Prophet's Mohamed's Mission in relation to his predecessors
Certain people erroneously believe that the prophet Mohamed (PBUH) differs from his predecessors and as such consequently promote lies that he called people to the worship of another deity never heard before from those mentioned in both the old Old Testament and New Testament. This is simply a deliberate obliteration of the simple fact that all Prophets are recognized by Muslims as having a shared mission. This falsification is meant to dissuade People from embracing Islam. A true Muslim who is considered to have recognized all prophets prior to the mission of Mohamed (PBUH). If a Muslim expresses an unbelief in any of those predecessors, he will be viewed by Muslim orthodox as having renounced the Islamic established creed altogether. In addition, a Muslim is obliged to accept all the Books revealed by angels to messengers of Allah before Mohamed (PBUH). The Holy Quran is included with various verses which recognize the previous messengers . Quote 58-59 Surrah Mariam (19) "58 Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His Grace, of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of ((Allah)) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears. 59 But after them there followed a posterity who missed prayers and followed after lusts soon, then, will they face Destruction, if they were ". All Messengers had a shared mission All Messengers were unfailingly entrusted with one mission ie. the spreading of monotheism. As indicated in the Holy Quran all revelations to previous messengers asserted the oneness of Allah. Their mission included indications of the righteous and astray paths and their respective milestones so that people would make their choices. Surrah Al-baqara(1) verse 213
The Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) throughout his carrier asserted that all messengers had one mission, drawn from a single source and aiming the same goal. None of his contemporary Christians and Jews held that he had been different from his predecessors.
Moreover, during an occasion which brought him together with a disciple of the prophet Jonah, the later asked the Prophet Mohamed if he knew Jonah. The prophets reply was assertive that Jonah had been Prophet and Mohamed was prophet as well. The prophets spent all his life dwelling on the lives of his predecessors defending then and refuting all blasphemous accounts designed to smear their names. The Holy Quran highlighted the righteous path of life they have taken and the examples they set in trueness and allegiance to Allah for whole humanity to follow. Quote Surrah Al-anam (6) verse 90 "Those were the Prophets Who received Allah guidance Copy the guidance they received. ..." The Holy Quran indicated the same path for all those who seek righteousness and attain company of prophets and so as to be ranked among them Surrah Annisa (4) verse 69
And the Messenger Are in the Company Of those on whom Is the Grace of Allah,- Of the prophets (who teach), The sincere (lovers of Truth), The witnesses (who testify), And the Righteous (who do good): Ah! what a beautiful fellowship!" Since the outset of his mission the Prophet Mohamed called upon people to worship one deity, One Allah, Supreme and Irresistible. His call was same as that of his predecessors in cautioning people again associating partners with Allah.
It is true that different prophets had their own distinct jurisprudences. However , considering that jurisprudence aims at the prosperity and development of human life and that the Prophet’s Sharia was always easy to understand and lent itself for application in all societies regardless of time and place constraints. This characteristic of Sharia prompted a host of contemporary intellectuals among sociologist and historian advocate its adoption a universal source of legislation that would offer a way out of all social and spiritual ailments. Misconceptions about Islam held by some western intellectuals are attributed to smear media campaigns and influences of false reports.
