The prophet and Polygamy
The Christian missionaries always propagate that the Prophet Muhammad was polygamous, so he, according to their understanding, can't be a prophet.
In fact Islam didn't invent polygamy; it had been there since the dawn of humanity, Polygamy was practiced worldwide.
But he was a prophet, they will say, a prophet shouldn't marry more than one woman. These devout Christians forget or might not know that all the prophets in the Old Testament were polygamous.
The Holy restricts the number of the wives
The Old Testament prophets are recorded to have married limitlessly more than woman. The Holy Quran restricts the number of women that the prophet Muhammad should marry while in the Holy Book there is no any reference to the number of wives.
Also note the New Testament never banned polygamous, it just banned divorcing. Polygamy was practiced in the Christian world and only banned by Augustine as this would be a strange practice in the Roman world. There are still some Christian cults who still practiced polygamy.
